Each section has been allocatd various functions and responsibilities with the major aspects outlined below:
Registrations
All matters relating to ownership,naming and registrations are handled by Registrations as well as the maintenance of the record of horses in and out of training.
Publications
Produce the weekly edition of the Irish Racing Calendar and The Irish Form Book for the annual subscribers. Publications also generate racecards for the Horse Racing Ireland owned racecourses and provide the racecard information on all Irish meetings to the various media outlets.
Entries & Declarations
Responsible for the productions of the various stages of Entries & Declarations on a near daily basis. Any queries relating to going reports, handicap ratings, balloting and the Minitel system are directed to this department
Race Planning
This section compiles the annual Fixture List for Irish Racing and reschedules any cancelled fixtures. Members of Race Planning Department represent Ireland internationally on the European Pattern Committee, which meets annually to review the status and number of Pattern races run in Europe each year.
Racecourse Services
Responsible for the provision and maintenance of mobile track equipment, including starting stalls, photo finish and camera patrol equipment. Stall handlers, the Photo Finish Unit and Camera Patrol Unit also come under their remit.

Photo Finish Pictures now available
Photo finish prints are now available for all races run since 1st January 2009. A4 in size and similar to the prints seen at the racecourse, your print will contain racecourse name and finishing position. To order your print, priced at €20 per copy, please download the form and return to HRI.
