Giuseppe Garibaldi and Victory Salute will locks horns once again in Thursday’s Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket.
The Aidan O’Brien-trained duo finished second and fourth respectively in the Curragh Cup last time out and they both try their luck again in the Group Three heat over a mile and five furlongs on the July Course.
Giuseppe Garibaldi also finished third in the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot last month and is a general 16-1 chance for the St Leger at Doncaster in September.
John Gosden’s First Eleven, the Charlie Appleby-trained Loxley and Wells Farhh Go from Tim Easterby’s yard are others that feature in the Leger betting and take their chances here.
Berkshire Blue, an 11-length winner at Wolverhampton last time, is stepped up in class by Andrew Balding with Caliburn and Global Giant completing the eight-strong field.
