Nap of the day - Aeglos (2.55)

12.15 - Blast Of Koeman - Book winter Festival Tickets At Fairyhouse.ie Rated Novice Chase - Win

Blast Of Koeman was over fences for the first time when a good fourth to Teacher’s Pet over a longer trip than this at Cork in the middle of last month and there should be more to come. This drop back in distance is likely to suit and he is preferred to La Bella Vida which ran out a good winner at Thurles three weeks ago. Babbling Stream was well beaten in a fair contest at Wexford but this looks to represent a drop in class.

    Exacta - 3-1 (Blast Of Koeman/La Bella Vida) Trifecta - 3-1-2 (Blast Of Koeman/La Bella Vida/Babbling Stream)

12.45 - Cap D’Aubois - Racing At Fairyhouse On New Year's Day Beginners Chase - Win

Cap D’Aubois briefly put it up to Death Duty at Tipperary at the beginning of last month and is very much the one to beat. Although certainly flattered to get as close as he did, it was a nice effort on his first go over fences and he should have the measure of Champoleon which ran a big race behind Presenting Percy and De Plotting Shed on his chasing debut at Galway. Woods Well is absent since April but that hardly a concern coming from these quarters. A maiden hurdle winner here in January, he can reach the frame on the best of his form.

    Exacta - 1-2 (Cap D’Aubois/Champoleon) Trifecta - 1-2-7 (Cap D’Aubois/Champoleon/Woods Well)

    1.15 - Dinnie’s Vinnie - Sponsorship At Fairyhouse Enquire Today Handicap Chase - Each/Way

Dinnie’s Vinnie has done well since returning from his summer break and is taken to add to his recent success at Downpatrick where he accounted for this afternoon’s rival Ard Cregg. That was only his second outing since March and there should be more improvement in him. Witness Of Fashion upset odds-on favourite Poormans Hill to win here last week and has a big chance as that was his first outing since March and he too can come on for the run. The veteran Tomcoole Lad might be another for the short-list along with the consistent The Bay Birch.

    Exacta - 4-6 (Dinnie’s Vinnie/witness Of Fashion) Trifecta - 4-6-9 (Dinnie’s Vinnie/witness Of Fashion/The Bay Birch)

1.50 - Blow By Blow - Christmas Parties At Fairyhouse December 16th Maiden Hurdle - Win

Blow By Blow was a top bumper performer a couple of seasons back and should be up to making a winning return. He runs for the first time since his all-the-way success in the Grade1 bumper at the Punchestown festival in 2016, his third bumper win of that term. He makes his hurdling debut here and gets the nod over Mind’s Eye which carries the same Gigginstown House Stud colours. Predictably no match for Samcro at Punchestown last month, he is taken to chase the selection home ahead of Quick Grabim, a Leopardstown bumper winner last Christmas, which has his first run for Willie Mullins here.

    Exacta - 2-10 (Blow By Blow/Mind’s Eye) Trifecta - 2-10-4 (Blow By Blow/Mind’s Eye/Quick Grabim)

    2.25 - A Hardy Nailer - Fairyhouse Membership 2018 Mares Maiden Hurdle - Win

A Hardy Nailer was nicely clear of the fifth-placed Bluegrass Princess, a rival again this afternoon, when fourth to the promising Half The Odds at Galway at the end of last month and might be up to winning a race like this. That was her first outing since March and she might just have the measure of Osco Mosco which has had a few recent starts over hurdles and lost little in defeat behind Dawn Shadow at Clonmel last time.

    Exacta - 1-3 (A Hardy Nailer/Osco Mosco) Trifecta - 1-3-2 (A Hardy Nailer/Osco Mosco/Bluegrass Princess)

2.55 - Aeglos - INH Stallion Owners EBF Novice Hurdle - Win

Aeglos can build on a fair run at Galway to take this. He scored on much different ground to win his maiden hurdle at Bellewstown in early July and was out for the first time since then when a close third to subsequent winner Just Janice and his better-fancied stable companion Mischievious Max at Ballybrit a little over two weeks ago. Monkshood was a good winner in testing conditions at Clonmel in February and he made a winning return to action when successful at Downpatrick a month ago. He should be a bigger danger to the selection than Minella Beau and The Rory Story.

    Exacta - 1-3 (Aeglos/Monkshood) Trifecta - 1-3-2 (Aeglos/Monkshood/Minella Beau)

3.25 - Goodthynemilan - Book Easter Festival Tickets At Fairyhouse.ie Handicap Hurdle (Division 1) - Win

Goodthynemilan has her first start for a new stable here and might be worth chancing. She was running for the first time in five months when tried over fences in a good race at Listowel in September and this will be more her level. Be My Vinnie has top-weight to contend with but showed good form at Ballinrobe and Tipperary of late. He should go well again and another with definite possibilities is The Church Gate which bounced back to form at Wexford last time.

    Exacta - 5-1 (Goodthynemilan/Be My Vinnie) Trifecta - 5-1-6 (Goodthynemilan/Be My Vinnie/The Church Gate)

4.00 - Glenabo Bridge - Book Easter Festival Tickets At Fairyhouse.ie Handicap Hurdle (Division 2) - Win

Glenabo Bridge ran a big race from the front rank on his first start since February when a good fourth to Roja Dove here last week and might not need to improve all that much to win. It was a fair effort after such a break and he makes loads of appeal against the likes of Come Home Quick which just prevailed at Wexford last time and Getaway Rose which runs in her first handicap hurdle. Padraic O Conaire is an early non-runner as he was declared in error.

    Exacta - 6-3 (Glenabo Bridge/Come Home Quick) Trifecta - 6-3-11 (Glenabo Bridge/Come Home Quick/Getaway Rose)
