Elliott to kick on after great weekend

Gordon Elliott saddled five winners over the weekend and is highly likely to be back in the number one spot at Punchestown this afternoon where racing begins at 12.40.

Dallas Des Pictons looks the one to beat in the Watch Racing TV With Free Trial Now Maiden Hurdle after a fine second effort over hurdles that saw him finish runner-up to the smart City Island at Leopardstown on St Stephen's Day. The six-year-old goes back up in trip for today’s assignment and should have the measure of the older Lighthouse Warrier.

Black Tears goes jumping for the first time in the Free Trial At racingtv.com/freetrial Mares Maiden Hurdle and must have every chance of success on her bumper form of last season. She was a winner at Cork in March and ran well subsequently at Fairyhouse and Punchestown.

Willie Mullins drew a blank at Fairyhouse on Saturday and here yesterday but his fortunes could change for the better if Fenta Des Obeaux puts in a clear round of jumping in the opening Introducing Racing TY Maiden Hurdle. She was a well-fancied favourite when a first flight faller on her jumping debut here on New Year's Eve but hopefully will have leaned from the experience and can give her supporters a better run for their money.

The Mullins-trained Fasola Tido was easy enough to back when a runner-up on her first start at Fairyhouse in the middle of last month but is entitled to improve on that and can land the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares INH Flat Race.

Princess Mahler was in with a big shout when coming down at the penultimate flight in a similar race at Limerick over Christmas and she must surely have the leading chance in the Watch Racing TV Now Handicap Hurdle. Kilkeaskin Molly has shown some nice form of late and the drop back in trip for the Racing TV Novice Handicap Hurdle might just see her home in front. The Watch Racing TV On Vodafone TV Handicap Hurdle is possibly the most open race on the card and here Lady Writer should go well for trainer/rider Denis Hogan as she steps out of maiden company for the first time.

Selections: 12.40 Fenta Des Obeaux; 1.10 Princess Mahler; 1.40 Dallas Des Pictons; 2.15 Black Tears; 2.45 Kilkeaskin Molly (NAP); 3.15 Lady Writer; 3.50 Fasola Tido.
