More Punchestown joy ahead for Kildorrery

The Ted Walsh-trained Kildorrery can land his second course and distance success in the Punchestown Race And Dine Handicap Chase at the County Kildare venue where racing this evening begins at 5.45.

Successful in a beginners’ chase here in November, he has performed consistently well in good company since and ran a big race when third to Impact Factor at Fairyhouse last month, a race in which Dakota Moirette was pulled-up.

The Next Race Day June 12 Handicap Hurdle is probably more competitive, and a chance is taken that Party Playboy can overcome an absence of five months to win. He showed up well on two handicap starts here late last year and might be better again over this longer distance.

Pass The Ball is back over fences for the first time since his novice chase win at Tipperary in July 2017 but he was a winner on the Flat and a three-time winner over hurdles last year and should be a player in the Thanks To Our Members Handicap Chase. This is his first start in a handicap chase and interestingly he competes off a mark 10lbs lower than his current hurdle rating.

Champion owner Gigginstown House Stud are set to dominate the Corinthian For Special Occasions Novice Chase and can land the spoils with the classy Farclas which made a winning start over fences at Down Royal early last week.

Authorized Art is Willie Mullins’ latest French recruit to appear and is likely to be all the rage in the opening Kildare Hunt Club Maiden Hurdle. Similarly, Run For Mary, a dual bumper winner, will surely be up to making a winning return in the Host Your Event At Punchestown Mares Maiden Hurdle while the point-to-point scorer Dlauro, which cost £410,000 at the sales, can take the Punchestown On Instagram INH Flat Race.

Selections: 5.45 Authorized Art; 6.15 Run For Mary; 6.45 Party Playboy; 7.15 Kildorrery (NAP); 7.45 Farclas; 8.15 Pass The Ball; 8.45 Dlauro.
