Feane’s got the power
The Johnny Feane-trained Bellepower might be the answer to the summer BBQ Evening July 12
Apprentice Handicap, comfortably the most open race on the card at Cork this
evening where the action begins at 5.35.
She has ground to make up on Pearl Warrior on their run behind
King’s Vow over a longer trip at Leopardstown 10 days ago but she’s far better
off at the weights with that rival and could be better suited by the quicker
ground. The form of her run when second to The Names Jock here at the beginning
of last month received a timely boost when he bolted up at Sligo last night.
The other handicap on the card is the Social Package Handicap
and here Royal Admiral has the form
to come out on top. He was behind old rival Sharjah when in midfield behind
Time For Mabel at Leopardstown on Friday night but he ran from a wide draw that
night and it might be best to concentrate on his earlier all-weather form.
The opening Matchbook Irish EBF Maiden is a tricky affair, Aidan
O'Brien runs two newcomers but perhaps his son Joseph might have the winning of
the race with Tinkerbells Effect which
ran a nice race on her debut at Navan at the end of last month.
The Matchbook Low Commission Exchange Rated Race is another
difficult race for punters and perhaps Chicago
May can bounce back to winning ways for Ger Lyons and high-flying Colin
Keane. She has run in two listed races since the second of her Naas wins late last
season and can take advantage of the drop in class. Heliac might be up to making a winning return for the same pair in
the concluding Irish Stallion Farms EBF Median Auction Fillies Maiden.
Newcomer Azwah is
likely to show up well for Dermot Weld and Oisin Orr in the Matchbook Straight
Seven Maiden and they can complete doubles of their own with the once-raced Tranchee in the Buy Online @
Tinkerbells Effect; 6.05 Chicago May; 6.35 Azwah; 7.05 Tranchee; 7.35 Bellepower
(NAP); 8.05 Royal Admiral; 8.35 Sweet Dime.
