Horses battling it out on the home stretch at Dundalk all-weather track

Completely remodelled and reopened in 2007, Dundalk Stadium is Ireland’s first and only all-weather racecourse accompanied with floodlights. It is a combined horse and greyhound racing facility and is in regular use throughout the year. Dundalk has a long history of racing with over 120 years of history.

Located to the north of Dundalk in County Louth, it is extremely popular among locals and racing fans as Europe's only dual racecourse. Dundalk racecourse continues its unique tradition of combining horse racing and greyhound racing in one evening with spectacular sights of the racing from the modern grandstand and elevated viewing areas. The new 10 furlong track, is accompanied by an extensive stable block to house up to 130 horses. The racing surface at Dundalk is known as ‘polytrack’ which is a wax-coated synthetic surface.

With 43 fixtures throughout the year Dundalk comes into its own during the winter months when staging Flat racing on at least one occasion each week from late October to mid-March. Feature races include Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Diamond Stakes Listed Race, Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Pat Smullen Mercury Stakes G3 and the Irish EBF Listed Cooley Stakes.

With a variety of hospitality packages for race days and lots of different restaurants to avail of, spending an evening at Dundalk racecourse is a great night out!
