Trainer Willie Mullins receiving trophy at Killarney racecourse

The town of Killarney is renowned as the premier tourist destination in Ireland and Killarney racecourse is one of its major attractions. Killarney racecourse located on the outskirts of the town just off the Killarney/Kenmare road, without a doubt  entices high-class racehorses for races like the Kingdom Gold Cup, the Cairn Rouge Stakes, the Ruby Stakes on the Flat and a number of valuable races over hurdles and fences. Killarney is an undulating, left-handed oval track with a circuit of around nine and a half furlongs in extent. It is sharp in character, with the turn after the winning post being particularly tight.

All meetings at this scenic location are incorporated into three summer festivals in the months of May, July and August. Primarily, racing is held in the evening time making the racecourse the ideal venue to round off a day of local sightseeing.  Killarney's five day July racing festival is the centrepiece of their racing calendar with a mixture of flat and jump racing.  During the Julyfest there is a dedicated Ladies day, with these days being renowned for style, glamour and elegance at Killarney racecourse.

Killarney Racecourse offers racegoers a host of varied dining and bar options suiting all their festivals. With numerous packages to chose from in the Panoramic Restaurant, The Jockeys Whip and The Jim Culloty Bar where live entertainment takes place after racing, there are plenty of choices to suit all tastes at Killarney Races.
