The Harvest Festival at Listowel is celebrated as one of the longest established race meetings in Ireland. The seven-day meeting takes place each September, see below dates for this year’s festival. Like all major Irish racing festivals, it draws huge crowds from far and wide, with an action-packed programme both on and off the course.
There are fashion competitions with dedicated days for Ladies, Men, Couples, Sustainable / Vintage, Blue Jeans and Fancy Dress, live music and some very special celebrity guests. Sunday is family day with free entertainment including pet farm with chicks, guinea pigs, hens, ducks, rabbits, lambs, piglets and pygmy goats, plus Roo the Llama! There will also be a mini-Disco, face painting, free balloons and Coco Melon & Mickey Mouse will meet & greet all the children as they arrive!

The week’s racing highlight - The Guinness Kerry National Steeplechase €200,000 (Grade A) - is on Wednesday and always attracts a huge crowd. The Listowel Supporters Club Lartigue Handicap Hurdle is another highlight of the week, and the Listed Listowel Stakes is one of the bigger Flat races at the Festival.
There is also a three-day meeting at Listowel on the June Bank Holiday weekend.
