    ENJOY A PROPER DAY OUT AT CORK RACECOURSE

    The annual three-day Easter Festival is the highlight of the racing year at Cork Racecourse. Situated close to the town of Mallow, on the main Killarney Road, it is extremely accessible with many crowds flocking to the racecourse.

    Racing throughout the year, Cork Racecourse is a fine galloping track on the banks of the River Blackwater and is a venue for top-class National Hunt (jump) and Flat racing. It is home to the Cork Grand National Handicap Chase and the Grade 2 Hilly Way Chase over fences and its major Flat events include the Group 3 Munster Oaks and Group 3 Give Thanks Stakes.

  • How To Get There

    By Road:

    35 km north of Cork city. 64 km south of Limerick city. Patrons coming from Cork city or Limerick (N20) go under the railway bridge at the roundabout in Mallow town. Patrons coming from Dublin or Waterford direction (N72 and N73) take the town park bypass to reach the roundabout. The racecourse is on the right out the Killarney road.

    By Rail:

    Mallow railway station is served by trains from Cork, Dublin, Tralee and Killarney. Free shuttle bus service to and from the racecourse, before the meeting starts and when it is over.

    By Bus:

    A Bus service runs from Cork to Mallow every hour at 25 minutes past the hour, to access the time table click on the link below. There is a free shuttle bus service to and from the town park to all race meetings. The Shuttle bus times will be posted on our web site a week prior to each race meeting. 

    By Air:
    Cork Airport is the closest airport to this racecourse.
