From Shanballymore, near Mallow, County Cork, Chris is a grandson of former trainer Jack O'Keeffe. He rode his first point-to-point on Optimus Prime, owned and trained by his sister Kate, at Dromahane in April 2014. He was the Champion Novice Rider in the 2015/2016 point-to-point season.
Chris rode his first winner on the racecourse at Cork in March 2016 on the Michael Winters-trained Theatre Princess in the Glenview & Rathbarry Studs Mares Maiden Hunters Chase.
