From Maynooth, County Kildare, Sean Davis rode his first winner on the Michael O'Callaghan-trained Maknificent at Leopardstown on June 3rd, 2016. Very early in his career, Sean landed a valuable success on the Donal Kinsella-trained Maudlin Magdalen in the €150,000 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Northfields Handicap at the Curragh on Longines Irish Champions Weekend in September 2016. It was just his fourth career winner.

Another big winner came his way when the John Quinn-trained Safe Voyage landed the €100,000 Irish Stallion Farms EBF Ahonoora Handicap on the final day of the 2018 Galway festival.

Sean relocated to Britain and joined up with trainer Richard Fahey early in 2019. He rode the first treble of his career at Wolverhampton on July 1 of the same year. He returned to Ireland in time for the 2020 Flat season.
