From County Wexford, Cormac Farrell is on his third stint with a trainer's licence. He worked with Jim Bolger and Paul Webber and then trained for five years before relocating to America in 2012 where he was based with leading jumps trainer Kathy Neilson in Maryland. On his return home in 2014, he renewed his licence and trained for 15 months before returning to the UK to pre-train yearlings for a year.

He was again sending out runners in Ireland in September 2017 and continues to train close to Bunclody.

Cormac is also a well-known breeze-up consigner.
