A former amateur rider, Thomas Coyle took out his trainer's licence in June 2015 and got off the mark within a week when Dunroe Boy, his first runner, won under amateur rider Paul Power at Kilbeggan. Coyle never rode a winner on the racecourse but he did partner five point-to-point winners before retiring from the saddle during the 2011/12 season.Â
