Did you know: 

From Monasterevin, County Kildare, Mark is from a family steeped in racing and took out an amateur rider's licence when he was 16. He won two bumpers on subsequent Champion Hurdler, Jezki for Jessica Harrington but his career in the saddle was cut short by a fall, pushing him into the training ranks earlier than planned. 

He landed his first winner as a trainer with Point The Toes at Downpatrick in June 2013 and credits the likes of four-time winner Jealika and Das Mooser as pivotal horses for the yard in the early days. 

Mark's father Tom is a well-know farrier, he is a nephew of trainers Jarlath, Paul and Seamus and a cousin of Peter, another trainer. His brother Brendan and sister Niamh have ridden winners under rules.
