From Tramore, County Waterford, John Flavin took over his father Pat's trainer's licence early in January 2021 and just a few weeks later landed a winner with his first runner when the Hugh Morgan-ridden Street Value won the Tipperary Handicap Hurdle at Clonmel on Tuesday, January 19.Â
John rode as a conditional for trainers Michael Hourigan, Richard Guest and Evan Williams before his riding career was cut short through injuries sustained in a fall at Wetherby in 2006.Â
