Tracey is a daughter of the legendary Curragh trainer Con Collins who trained for over 50 years and enjoyed his biggest success when saddling Princess Pati to win the Irish Oaks in 1984. Following a short illness in January 2007, Con passed away and his training license was transferred into Tracey’s name and she embarked on her own outright training career.
Tracey has carried on her father’s legacy, showing herself to be a fine trainer. While she has never had a huge amount of firepower, she has won more than her share of stakes races. Indeed, on one memorable day at the Curragh in 2009, she saddled Girouette and Arctic to win a Listed race each in the space of 30 minutes. She has also enjoyed terrific success with Captain Joy which was the winner of 10 races.Â
