Based in Golden, County Tipperary, Paddy Twomey was well-known in the breeding, breeze-up and pin-hooking business before taking out a restricted licence in 2012. He struck with his first runner when the Billy Lee-ridden Hunting Goddess landed a fillies' maiden at Dundalk eight days into his training career. A full licence holder since 2016, Twomey's career continues to go from strength to strength with Silk Forest, Sonaiyla, Fantasy Lady and Moll all winning at Listed level. 

Sonaiyla became Twomey's first Group winner when landing the Group 3 Qatar Racing And Equestrian Club Ballyogan Stakes at the Curragh in June, 2021.
