Did you know: Conor O’Dwyer was one of the leading National Hunt jockeys from the late-1980s until his retirement at the age of 41 in March, 2008. The Davy Fitzgerald-trained Mister Top Notch saw him bow out with a winner at the Fairyhouse Easter Festival and it was certainly a fitting send off for a rider that enjoyed considerable success with the likes of Imperial Call, Hardy Eustace and War Of Attrition. O’Dwyer was associated with trainers such as Frank Oaks, Francis Flood, Mouse Morris, Christy Roche and Arthur Moore before teaming up with Michael O’Leary’s Gigginstown House Stud for the final six years of his riding career. He was still riding when he enjoyed his first training success with Hangover at Punchestown in January, 2008.
