Johnny Levins rode over 30 winners as a National Hunt jockey and was mainly associated with the Charlie Swan yard. On his retirement from the saddle, he worked closely with trainer Shane Broderick and served as his assistant for five years. Johnny took out his own trainer's licence in 2013 and enjoyed his first success with just his third runner, Jumbo Steps, at Fairyhouse in June of the same year.
