Originally from Dublin, Sarah was brought up close to Dunshaughlin, County Meath. She has a degree from Trinity College Dublin in Film Studies and French. Having attended Scoil Oilibheir National School in Coolmine in Dublin, Sarah is a fluent Irish speaker. 

Sarah worked for trainers Gai Waterhouse, Jim Bolger, Willie Mullins and her father Eddie Lynam before branching out with a licence of her own in early 2017. She sent out her first winner at Sligo on Tuesday, June 19 the following year where Musical Jewel won the Peugeot Range At Kevin Egan Cars Handicap in the hands of Danny Sheehy.

Sarah recorded her first double when Sabrina Fairchild and Tyrconnell won at Dundalk on November 21, 2018. Both winners were ridden by Danny Sheehy.
