From Monegall, County Offaly, Philip Donovan began his career in racing as an apprentice on the Flat. He rode his first winner on the Paul Deegan-trained Srucahan at Cork in October 2012. He rode five winners on the Flat in Ireland before moving to Britain in 2016 and switching his attention to the jumping game.Â
Philip returned to Ireland in 2020 and ride his first winner over jumps here on the Eamonn Sheehy-trained Joeswayornoway at Clonmel in March of the following year.Â
