From Kiltealy, County Wexford, Jordan began his career as an amateur rider and had three point-point winners to his name when he partnered his first winner on the racecourse, the Colin Bowe-trained Cushinstown Finest, at Downpatrick in September, 2019. 

Jordan had planned to turn professional at the end of the 2020/2021 National Hunt season but brought forward his plans due to the curtailment of the point-to-point season during the Covid-19 pandemic. 

In all he rode 12 winners 'between the flags' and four winners as an amateur. He made a flying start to his career in the paid ranks, winning on each of his first two rides as a conditional jockey. He won on the Gordon Elliott-trained Fierami at Navan on Sunday, February 21, 2021 and followed up at Fairyhouse less than 24 hours later on the Colin Bowe-trained Mt Leinster Gold at Fairyhouse. 

Jordan's remarkable early success was highlighted by his initial Cheltenham Festival winner which came on Emmet Mullins-trained The Shunter in the Paddy Power Plate Handicap Chase less than a month after he turned professional. He rode a treble at Down Royal on Bank Holiday Monday, May 3, on three horses trained by Denise Foster, Don Diablo, Tullybeg and Fancy Foundations.

Jordan rode out his claim at Limerick on February 1 2022 with success on the Eoghan O'Grady-trained Springfield Lodge. It was his 60th winner and he wrapped up a memorable day when also winning the very next race.
