From Goresbridge, County Kilkenny, Tony is a son of the legendary trainer, Paddy Mullins, and brother to the successful trainers Willie and Tom Mullins. It is probably fair to say that he was ever going to be involved in one business. A successful jockey in his younger years, Tony was probably best known for being the regular partner of the greatest National Hunt race mare of all time, Dawn Run, who was trained by his father. While he never rode a Cheltenham Festival winner, he enjoyed considerable success in the saddle and will always be associated with the likes of Dawn Run, Hungry Hur and Ararun. He did however train a Festival winner when Pedrobob won the Vincent O'Brien County Hurdle in 2007.Â
